1. TONGUES – EVIDENCE OF HOLY SPIRIT
• Acts 2:4 = 1st received Holy Spirit = tongues
• Joel 2:28 = prophesied this would happen
• Is 28:11 = prophesied this would happen
• Mark 16:17 shall speak with new tongues
• Acts 10:46-47 for they heard them speak with tongues
• Acts 19:6 spoke with tongues

2. GIFT OF TONGUES
• 1 Cor 12:10 divers kinds of tongues
• 1 Cor 12:28-30 – how to facilitate the gift of tongues
• 1 Cor 14:23 – must be orderly with purpose

3. EDIFICATION OF TONGUES
• 1 Cor 14:2-4 = edification 1 Cor 14:14 my spirit prays.
• Jude 1:20 praying in the Holy Ghost
• 1 Cor 14:39 – forbid not to speak with tongues

ORIGIN AND PURPOSE OF NATURAL TONGUES
• God originated tongues in Gen 1 (God said).
• Gen 11:1 One Language – one speech
• Gen 11:7 God confounded their language
• Tongues originated for God to communicate with us and we with others.
